Patricia Payumo is a trailblazing beauty queen who made history by becoming the first TransPinay to win the Miss Star International crown. The prestigious pageant, held in São Paulo, Brazil, brought together 27 contestants from around the world, and Patricia's victory marked a significant milestone for the LGBTQIA+ community and the Philippines.
Prior to this achievement, Patricia won numerous local beauty pageants in her country, showcasing her dedication and persistence in pageantry. Her journey has been marked by personal challenges, including overcoming major depressive disorder in 2020, which she openly discussed during MSI Final question and answer segment. Her candidness and self-acceptance resonated with many, highlighting her commitment to empowering others through destigmatizing mental health disorders.
Beyond the stage, Patricia is also an Ambassadress of a non government organization that supports animal welfare. She actively volunteers in feeding programs, donation drives and rehoming rescued animals.
